New Scientific Publication Dedicated to Independence Day

On the eve of Independence Day, a significant work by Bulbul Sirazheva, an archaeologist and researcher at the "Berel" State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, has been published by Istanbul University Press. The book, titled "Bone Carving in Kazakhstan: From Antiquity to the Ethnographic Modernity," was released as three separate editions in Turkish, Russian, and English.

Bulbul Sirazheva has made a substantial contribution to the classification of bone and horn artifacts, which until now were rarely analyzed as independent subjects in Kazakhstani archaeology. Her research covers the Early Iron Age and the Middle Ages, including items used in military affairs, hunting, daily life, and the spiritual sphere. Despite challenges regarding museum documentation and limited primary sources, the author demonstrated remarkable scientific discipline.

The work is particularly significant for its focus on cultural continuity, tracing historical processes from the Saka and Hun-Sarmatian periods through the ancient Turkic era to modern Kazakh culture. The author expresses deep gratitude to all colleagues who provided support during the preparation of this book.
